Mentorship

Remember when you were in school and needed advice on careers, professional goals, and on life in general? Well, PAA's Mentorship Program gives alumni the chance to advise current students and share their knowledge and resources. PAA seeks to match students interested in the Mentorship Program with alumni in their respective fields. The process has proven successful in establishing a more personalized relationship. We encourage all alumni to volunteer their time as mentors in order to help our younger brothers and sisters survive the many challenges of realizing career goals.

Scholarship

The PAA of UCLA Scholarship Program presents an annual scholarship to UCLA undergraduates to honor their outstanding achievement in academics, leadership, and community service.  All current UCLA students in their second year or higher of undergraduate education are eligible and are judged on several criteria, such as academic record, community service, school activities, leadership, family income, an essay, and a personal interview.  In light of the rising cost of student registration fees, PAA would like to aid current Pilipino students in any way possible.  PAA membership dues fund most of the scholarship, but if you would like to contribute directly to the PAA Scholarship Fund, you may do so at any time by contacting the Scholarship Committee.

Networking

Outreach is the key to successfully coordinating programs and events which best serve our alumni community.  With a pulse on what alumni expect of the association, PAA can truly be a positive voice in the community and a purposeful vehicle for all of us. And now, with more "people power" behind us, we can further the progress toward our goals of supporting our students with mentors, scholarships, and post-graduation guidance, as well as strengthening the ties among alumni through networking, professional development, and community service. PAA seeks to enhance it's relationship and commitment to alumni, the UCLA campus, and the community at-large through many exciting and innovative networking programs and events.  We strive to strengthen the relationships among all alumni so that we may share our knowledge, resources, and support with other alumni as well as current and future students.

Having access to contacts within the Pilipino community has many advantages.  By networking, established alumni can enrich their careers or sell their services, new graduates can be assisted in finding entry-level jobs, and current students can find internships or summer jobs.  If you would like to publicize a potential employment opportunity, please contact us and we will post the listing on our Job and Career Listings page.
