Roles and Responsibilities

• Act as liaison to other alumni groups (i.e. EAA, UCLA AA, APA)

• Regular follow-up with board members

• Work with Chair to establish and maintain relationships with leaders of other organizations (community & campus) and active PAA alumni

• Be the leader and encourage growth and development of other board members

• Serve in leadership role similar to chair

• Work with board members on leadership development

• “Supervise” members to ensure they’re fulfilling their duties to see if they need help

• Keep board abreast of all happenings

• Make sure all positions are accountable

• Develop board; take care of board relationship with each other

• Ensure that meeting minutes are recorded

• Take care of board psyche! (Sometimes board isn’t a fun place to be.)

• In charge of endowment logistics

• Know what each person’s budget for the year is

• Keep track of finance

• Keep solid financial records

• Set budget for board positions

• Budget determination

• Monthly updates of treasury status

• Manage finances

• Devise a plan for endowment- create timeline

• Handle endowment and foundation accounting

• Overseen the financial records of PAA

• Work with alumni association to ensure proper disbursement of funds (i.e. scholarships)

• Track PAA funding what goes into PAA account vs. endowment

• Ensure/Notify board if we have money to host events

• Manage PAA funds:  depositing dues, checks, donations

• Reconcile, update, follow budget

Suggestions:

• Have all of board understand the responsibilities of vice-chair

• Be present if chair cannot be at any official event

• Order PR materials (business cards, banner, thank you cards, etc.)

• Have more thorough updates

General Duties of all PAA Board Members: 

• Attend and help coordinate all PAA events and programs, including recruiting and publicity.

• Attend all Board of Directors meetings (monthly).

• Work closely with any other Board members or committees as needed.
